Movement and Body Expression Workshop

Saturday, 22 June, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with Denis Niessen

The Workshop

Deepen self-knowledge, through oneself and beyond oneself. The goal of the work, based on creativity, is primarily artistic. Body expression is a tool that aims to build a personal body language specific to the student and in the service of dance and movement. These practices allow rediscovering one's anatomy, bringing up a multitude of sensations, feelings, or thoughts, and rehabilitating damaged psychic and/or physical abilities. It is, therefore, a care through a creative approach.

No specific ability or talent is required to engage in these approaches. It is primarily a personal journey, even though dance can be practiced within a group and bring a sense of sharing. There is no age limit to initiate oneself to the practice of dance. Beyond all its health benefits, it gives us the opportunity to meet other people and, above all, to have fun!

Teacher Denis Niessen

Denis Niessen is a clinical Psycho-Orthopedagogue (UCL), Professor of Movement and Body Expression, Trainer in Higher Education (HELMo), Specialist in Dance Therapy. Trained in special education, he uses movement and body expression as tools for support with various audiences.

Denis is an tireless explorer of body approaches (Body Expression, Improvisation, Dalcroze Eurythmics, Creative Dance, Physical Theatre, Yoga, Kinesiology, Eutony, Somatic Practices, ...).

The central objective of his work, formalized through the "Entrées dans la danse" project, is to offer body expression and movement in the service of better self-awareness and to enable everyone to take ownership of their body and expressiveness.

As part of our thematic year 'Dance and Cancer,' the proceeds from this event will be dedicated to funding workshops for individuals affected by cancer. Your participation will directly contribute to the realization of these meaningful projects.

If you wish to support our initiative, you can make a donation. Every contribution matters and makes a difference in our commitment to the community, combining the benefits of dance with the fight against cancer.
