Symposium 2025: relive the ‘Dancing in Our Shoes’ edition

A look back at the annual ‘Dancing in Our Shoes’ symposium.

When dance becomes a lever for inclusion!

On 17 October, we hosted the third edition of our Annual Dance & Health Symposium. Entitled ‘Dancing in Our Shoes’, this edition highlighted the power of dance to promote inclusion and a sense of belonging.

With 161 participants, six interactive sessions, six participatory workshops and six international speakers, the energy was palpable from the very first minutes. Every gesture, every smile reflected the unique bond that dance can create.

Exchanges that make you tingle

Our interactive sessions combined experiences, knowledge and artistic practices. We explored how dance can bring diverse audiences together.

Each contribution enriched our vision: dance is not just an art form, it is a universal language for creating connections and including everyone.

On the move to experiment

In our participatory workshops, we experienced inclusion through exploration. Group exercises, guided movements, moments of sharing: each participant was able to integrate the concept of belonging to a community through practice.

These moments created strong and sincere connections, reminding us that dance brings people together as much as it heals.

Moments of openness

Throughout the day, we observed simple but powerful exchanges: glances, outstretched hands, smiles and shared emotions. Dance became a common language, capable of transcending differences and celebrating everyone's diversity.

It's incredible the connection we had! I enjoy watching as much as I enjoy dancing.

These moments confirmed that dance can transform our spaces into places of encounter, respect and listening, while also being a real lever for wellbeing and inclusion.

And what about next year?

For 2025–2026, our theme will be the mental wellbeing of young people and carers. Through interventions, workshops and meetings, we will continue to explore how dance can support mental wellbeing and create spaces for wellbeing that are accessible to all.
