Dance and Seniors

Dance Workshops at CHC Residence in Hermalle-sous-Argenteau (April 2023)

The year 2023 was dedicated to exploring the connections that can be woven between dance and the elderly. Dance, like any other physical activity, offers numerous benefits, both cognitive and physical. It also plays a role in preventing disorders, particularly neurodegenerative ones, and symptoms associated with aging. Lastly, it helps break isolation and regain a sense of autonomy.

This year's theme was punctuated by a host of initiatives, including dance discovery workshops, professional training courses (particularly for Parkinson's sufferers), sit-down dance workshops in nursing homes, and the organization of an international "Dance with the Elderly" conference in September.

In view of the enthusiasm encountered, we are perpetuating these initiatives and organizing, once again in 2024, activities specifically designed for our seniors, particularly in nursing homes.
