November in Motion: dance highlights and discoveries

This November, Quand on Danse is offering you the chance to explore dance from a new angle: a way of taking care of yourself, opening up to others and sharing moments with others. Training courses, workshops and discoveries are on the programme Let yourself be guided by these inspiring events

Dance in Cancer Care training with Emily Jenkins

Immerse yourself in a unique training course for health and dance professionals. From 15 to 17 November, join Emily Jenkins, founder of Move Dance Feel, to explore how dance can innovate cancer care.

Over the course of three days, you will learn how to use dance to support patients' physical, mental and emotional challenges. You will discover how this practice can not only contribute to rehabilitation, but also to the creation of care communities that promote collective well-being.

Participants will have the opportunity to :

  • Experiment with the Move Dance Feel methodology
  • Understanding the side effects of cancer and how dance can respond to them
  • Reflect on how this learning can be integrated into their own practice
  • Joining an international network of dance in cancer care

Dance to rebuild body image after cancer

Read our latest article, in which we explore how dance helps cancer patients reclaim their bodies, restore their self-confidence and improve their recovery. Emily Jenkins also shares her thoughts on the importance of this approach in cancer care.

A look back at a memorable day: ‘Bien vieillir, ça se prépare‘

On October 1st, the Quand on Danse team and the Mosa Ballet School ran 8 sit-down dance workshops at the Hôpital de la Citadelle, bringing together 111 participants. A moment of joy, sharing and intergenerational movement.

Alzheimer's League conference

‘Alzheimer's disease and physical activity: dance as a means of communication’.

Laura Dethier, director of the Quand on Danse programme, will present the benefits of this practice for everyone and more specifically for people with Alzheimer's disease, on Wednesday 13 November 2024 at the Mosa Ballet School in Liège.

Come and dance!

On Sunday November 17, take part in two introductory workshops in Biodanza and seated dance, open to all, with no pre-requisites.

The Biodanza workshop will allow you to explore dance as a means of expression and well-being.

The seated dance workshop will offer adapted movements that promote relaxation, coordination and well-being.
